How To Master Any Skill Fast

Hey friends! I’m really excited about the newsletter this week because I know for a fact that if you spend the next 30 days doing nothing but using the technique I’m about to explain here, you will develop any skill faster than you ever did before.

So, this week I’m going to show you:

  • What this epic technique to learn fast is.

  • The elements needed to make it work.

  • How you can use this technique to your own advantage.

Let’s get into it! But first, let me guide you through my journey of discovering this technique.

1: The Unexpected Start

Back in 2013, I was on the verge of finishing my biology degree, and I realized I didn't want a future stuck in a lab. So, I ventured into an engineering program that seemed perfect, except for one catch: they wanted coding skills, which I had zero of. But against all odds, I applied!

2: The Pressurized Passion Effect

Something incredible happened after I hit that "apply" button – my brain became a sponge. I devoured coding courses, took notes, and immersed myself in the coding world. It was like a switch had flipped, and I was learning faster than ever. I had just discovered the Pressurized Passion Effect. The right mix of passion and pressure can make you the fastest learner on Earth.

3: Finding the Balance

The Pressurized Passion Effect needs the right mix of pressure and passion. Over time, they can fade, leading to a plateau. To keep the fire burning, remember your "why." Why do you want to learn this skill? As for pressure, have a reason to deliver, but don't let it overwhelm you.

Fast forward to 2016, I was in my first engineering job, still passionate about coding but finding it hard to muster the energy for tutorials. Then, an opportunity arose. My team needed help with image processing, and the coding expert was away. The desire to impress my colleagues and my interest in the topic ignited a spark, and I dove into image processing tutorials like never before.

4: Raising the Stakes

To keep the momentum going, raise the stakes. I continued to use this method, becoming a crucial part of my project team. The pressure became real, but thanks to the "pressurized passion," it was manageable, and tasks were no longer daunting.

Thanks to this method, in 2019, I landed a job leading a team of data analysts. All it took was one click of the "apply" button and a willingness to raise the stakes.

But how can you apply this same method?

  • Start by understanding your "why." Why do you want to learn this skill? What's your big picture goal?

  • Find the right balance of pressure – enough to motivate, but not so much that it paralyzes you.

  • Look for opportunities to raise the stakes in your learning journey.

  • Keep the passion alive by revisiting your "why" and fuel your drive with pressure when needed.

You can use this system to learn anything – from playing the guitar to mastering coding or any skill you desire. The key is to ignite that "pressurized passion" within you and watch your abilities soar.

Cheers,

Ignasi 🚀
